The method of shooting.

I shot 3 shots out of each rifle, one after another.

After each shot I alcohol swab each shot, 3 up, 3 down.  Turn over the patch, 1 up 1 down.  Working the crud ring when I got to it. Slowly.   Then dry patch, 1 up 1 down.  Then   1 patch of bore butter, down and up once. 

After each shot  I used a spotting scope to make sure of each shot where I hit.  After the 3 shots I walked to the target and marked the shots. 

I shot each target for only 1 type of bullet with both rifles.

For the penetration test.  After each shot.  I placed the soil displaced on the ground back into the bucket and packed it back down with a 10 lb tamper..
